Lyrics —
v1
A dead-end road on a weekend night
skirtin’ the ways between wrong and right
Lightnin bugs under big old pines
buckshot holes in every sign
Hook ——-
uhhh uhhh ohhh
ohhh its been too long
uhhh uhhgh ohhh
where those times have gone?
v2
Summer nights would never end
looking back we’re just breakin ’em in
Two-lane roads go by and by
Hope and pray the levee holds this time
Hook
Bridge
Where you’re from
you know it makes you real
heartbroken times
make you leave to heal
200 hundred miles
against a humid breeze
can’t take away
those memories
like an old Bob Seger song
hits you where you feel
and the sounds of your past
are always so real
Most times are good
but some are hard
some cut so deep
some left a scar
I gotta give thanks up to the Lord
For giving me the day
and all the good friends
along the way
v3
all them times. three sheets in the wind
still feel the pain every now and again
to this day, most they faired the well
God bless the ones that we knew would fail
Hook —-
end spoken
Man, Times have changed
Wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then
I guess It made me a man or something like that
It sometimes hits me hard and I can feel that pain
comes in like a flood from a Louisiana rain
but those good times they just fit like a glove
and the beauty I saw and the people love
Looking back you know it couldn’t have been much clearer
All I had to do was look in the rearview mirror

Junior Kimbrough’s Juke Joint on Google Earth

Few people know that you can scrub back in time on Google Earth revealing all kinds of fun historical stuff. I even found Hitler's lair before we bombed it into oblivion (mess with the US and Allies and find out). I went through the years and found Junior's Juke Joint outside of Holly Springs, Mississippi. Here is a Google Earth breakdown. Enjoy.
