Just like last year’s Juke Joint Fest, I ran the Stone Pony Stage on Saturday and played Red’s Juke Joint Friday night. The music and excitement in the air was electric. It was nice sitting in on stage with greats like Kent Burnside, Lady Trucker, Robert Kimbrough Sr and Duwayne Burnside to name a few. It was perfect weather which had everyone in a great mood. This is still one of my favorite festivals here in America. I had my full band and brother, Tracy Lindsey in tow. We visited Muddy Waters’ old home site north of Mississippi. I also enjoyed snapping pics. I had someone come up to me and say,
“Damn. That set last night at Reds! That was dangerous! Great job.”
Thanks, stranger. I hope to satisfy again next year.
