Janky twists the knobs for The Kimbrough Brothers

Janky had the pleasure of recording the Kimbrough Brothers for their upcoming CD. The brothers: David Kimbrough, Jr., Kent Kimbrough and Robert Kimbrough, Sr., are North Mississippi blues royalty and the sons of the great Junior Kimbrough.

This session took place during 2017 Deep Blues Fest and in the old WROX radio station studio across the street from Cathead in Downtown Clarksdale, MS.

This was a treat for Janky to witness these great musicians/brothers lay down such great music so effortlessly. “These guys communicate musically on a whole new level like only brothers can do. It was amazing. They were ‘one’ and channeling Junior.” says, Janky.

Junior Kimbrough’s Juke Joint on Google Earth

Few people know that you can scrub back in time on Google Earth revealing all kinds of fun historical stuff. I even found Hitler's lair before we bombed it into oblivion (mess with the US and Allies and find out). I went through the years and found Junior's Juke Joint outside of Holly Springs, Mississippi. Here is a Google Earth breakdown. Enjoy.
